DAHLIN transformed Cedar Park’s former public library into RE|CREATE, adapting two generations of the building into a new recreation center for the community. The 25,000 SF facility combines the original 1990 structure with a later addition, giving an existing civic asset a new purpose rather than starting from scratch.
The renovation opens an exterior wall to draw more natural light from the existing courtyard into the building and refreshes the interior with a new welcome desk, custom wall coverings, and environmental graphics. These targeted changes shift the character of the former library to support a more active, flexible recreation environment while making thoughtful use of the existing building.
