RE|CREATE

  • Cedar Park, Texas
  • City of Cedar Park

A former library finds new life as RE|CREATE, a recreation center shaped around activity, creativity, and community use.

DAHLIN transformed Cedar Park’s former public library into RE|CREATE community center, adapting two generations of the building into a new recreation center for the community. The 25,000 SF facility combines the original 1990 structure with a later addition, giving an existing civic asset a new purpose rather than starting from scratch.

The adpative re-use renovation takes space for former library stacks into now flexible classrooms, creative studios, performance space, gathering areas, and an indoor play environment supporting programs for children, teens, adults, seniors, and families. DAHLIN lead the integrated services across four offices providing architectural and interior design to re image the building from the inside out.

DAHLIN is proud to be part of the team to transform a aging library facility into a place where the community can continue learning, creating, moving, and connecting for generations to come. That is the power of adaptive reuse: honoring what a building has been while unlocking everything it can become.
